The Ireland of the O’Donnells
March 13, 2010
Why Bridget and Galen love Ireland: Because Bridget's grandparents lived off the land there and because the green is so green. Because we love pints of Guinness and James Joyce's The Dubliners and Irish brown bread served every morning with breakfast. Because Bridget spent three weeks writing on the Aran Islan: Inis Mean, looking back over Galway Bay to the mainland. Because of the wind and the sky over Donegal as you look out over the ocean. Pubs and Irish smiles and because of Cafe Paradiso in Cork. Connemara lamb. And, of course, the brogue.
